Our Opinion about RTEK 2000
ABOUT THE TRAINING PROGRAM...

It is good to hear that there are still training centers that are ACTUALLY helping people learn!

"I just got my dream job as a LAN Administrator! I credit my new employment to RTEK 2000. I graduated from UMBC with a B.S. degree with a major in Computer Networking and could not find a job. Obviously, academic knowledge from college does not bring the job skills and hands-on experience. I turned to RTEK 2000, and they guided me along the path to put myself in a position where I was able to get knowledge and related experience that is essential to working in the LAN Management environment. I couldn't get this job without RTEK 2000's help. Thank you!!"
Emil M., LAN Administrator

"I had BS in the Information System Management and some computer experience. I couldn't make a decision what exactly I want to do in my "computer future". Luckily one of my friends gave me an advice to take the "Web Design and Development Professional Program" at RTEK 2000.
Contrary to academic knowledge, the course I took has brought a lot of professional-level knowledge that I use now in my everyday job. I enjoyed every class with RTEK 2000 instructors. They were great, especially Sammy Abaza. He is the best! I've got a good job after graduation, and now I am about to change a job for another one (already got an offer!). I'm looking forward to developing my career in that direction.

Thank you so much for all your help. RTEK2000 is a great career training school!"
Lana B., Software Developer

"I found the class to be incredibly helpful, in that it showed me the ways to focus on what I didn't already know. The knowledge I gained from my instructor and fellow classmates really made the difference.
I passed exam on the first try, thanks mainly to the classroom experience, and partly to the extended amount of time I was able to put into private study... Thank you again for the excellent class!"
Perry M. L, CISSP CCNA CFOI, Internet Systems Engineer III, Allegiance Internet

"The RTEK 2000 Web Design/Development course I took helped me land a terrific job as Web Master/Content Developer. I was sent on an interview for a two-month position as a technical writer, to write user manuals, but when they found out that I also can hand-code HTML, and have used Flash, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver, they offered me an interesting on-staff job at an excellent salary. With the confidence I gained in working with the various applications, I've continued teaching myself the specific details I need on the job. Besides maintaining and expanding our corporate website (connectionsacademy.com - check it out in a new window!) I'm using Flash to animate math concepts for the curriculum developers. Thank you RTEK!"
- Devorah Adler, Web Master -
"I've got a job!!!
This is position with 80% of Web Development with ASP. The rest of it is Web Design and Graphic Design.
Thank you RTEK 2000!"
Borys M, Web Design and Development graduate

Thanks you very much for taking the time to meet with me on Saturday. I was very impressed with the entire curriculum and your professional yet straight talk on your programs. I am very intrigued. I am still in a decision mode, and would like to know what dates are available for me to experience a live class...
...and later, as a student:
You were right when you told me about the highest qualification of your instructors! Your response to my problem was very fast. I will try your suggestions and let you know. I appreciate your immediate and thorough response. Great service! Now I know how your customers feel. Quick, high quality support!
I truly respect your work ethic and approach to your clients. It makes good business - I don't have to tell you!
-Tom E., Web Design and Development program student-

I took two 6-month courses at RTEK 2000: Visual Basic and Web Design & Development. I'm happy I did, because I've got my dream job. I have been working as a Programmer for 6 years now. I wrote many VB, Access, Web, Cold Fusion applications, hundreds of Reports using Crystal Reports and ASP, learned a lot of development tricks. Thanks to RTEK 2000 for everything I've got. P.S. Your Web Site is very nice. There is a lot of useful details, good description of courses.
- Y. Brusilovsky, Programmer -

I've chosen RTEK 2000 for two reasons:
1. I like the philosophy of teaching job skills instead of certification testing.
2. I'd like to use Unix/Linux, and your course appears to be a good one. Not many schools offer it. After getting hands-on skills I intend to get Linux certified and then move into Information Systems Security. You have everything that I need right there!
- Ernest G., Computer Networking student. -

...I found a job (one month before I completed your program!), and I already started working as a Web Designer which makes me feel so happy! Now I realized that I know more than I thought. However, I am going to keep studying. So far, everything your program gave me is very valuable. Thanks for your help and for giving me the opportunity to learn as much as I can.
Sincerely, Adelina Dilovsky.

I thank you and all my instructors from the bottom of my heart for all the support and help and the encouragement you people have given us! Without that I would not have been able to do anything.
Thanks and Regards,
Indu Kumar, Web Authoring and Development student

Hello,
My name is Joe Davis. I was given your card by a former student of yours, David Leselidze. He said that your training courses were phenomenal. I am very interested in the 7 month computer networking course with RTEK 2000...

Hello Roman, I wanted to let you know about my new job that I got through one of your e-mail newsletters. I got an offer after second interview. They understand that my experience is not exactly 5 years of heavy programming, but they assume I'll pick up what I need to. So right now it's quite difficult for me (they do software development), but it's only my third day there. Everyone in the company I worked for before was very happy with me. And, frankly, if there weren't that many rumors about them maybe going out of business soon I wouldn't leave that company. But even so, they were very nice to me, asked me to stay, offered me a very flexible schedule. And finally, they asked me to do some consulting work for them on a part-time basis, so I can help them to launch their main website on time. I also wanted to tell you (since you're the person who basically taught us all the design part of the course yourself) that I could do a lot more stuff than my co-workers. So I'm really looking forward to developing my career in that direction. Thank You so much for all your help.
Tanya T.

...I am doing very well at work. It seems like I am learning something new every week and that makes me happy. ...Overall, I rate my experience at RTEK very valuable to my career and necessary for working in this industry.
Mike P.
Web Coordinator, Legg Mason
Thank you!!!
I have finally passed the last exam. I am now a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and MCP+Internet. I've decided to move to North Virginia from January 1, because demand for Network Engineers in that area is currently higher. Thank you for everything!!!
S. Tsytsikov,
MCSE, MCP+I

E-mail from a former student:

I'm writing to tell you that I've been working for the past month. I work for OPM which is office of Personal Management, it's in DC. Everything's fine and I am happy with my job...
Sincerely,
Mogilevich, Arthur M.

Today I got a job offer from BroadPoint Communications as an Assistant Network Administrator in Landover, MD. .. They offered me $38,000.00 and I agreed. This is small company, only 3 years in business. They have two NT LAN's.
Thank you for everything. Wish me luck.
Vlad R., MCP

I would like to thank you for every thing you have done for me, your program gave me more then enough information and the interview preparation lessons were more then essential. I only had to go on two interviews, and both offered me a job!
Gary Talmadge.

Just wanted to share with you a good news: I got my Netware 5.1 CNE certification today.
I. Yurganov, CNE

From another student:
... by the way , I have recently passed my last test and became MCSE!
Gregory Zafman, MCSE

The reason I enrolled at RTEK 2000 was to apply the skills I would eventually learn in the real world (instead of just sitting in the classroom and learning something that I will never use). This is exactly what I received at RTEK 2000. I learned the latest Web Development skills that employers require in today's Internet economy. I began working for an Internet company a month after I graduated from RTEK. I urge anyone who desires a meaningful, and fun job to enroll in the Web Development program at RTEK 2000, and work hard inside and outside of classroom. As a result, you will experience the satisfaction of a great job.
Eugene Krivenko, Web Developer

I just got a position of Web Designer/Developer with Trade Compass Inc. in D.C. It's 2 blocks from White House (http://www.tradecompass.com). My responsibilities will be creating graphics in Photoshop, validating forms, DB Connections, displaying data sets, sending e-mail using VB Script and Java Script. Of course, HTML and some daily updates. I guess Java Script will be the the toughest thing for me. My compensation will be $46K/year with pretty standard benefits. I'm glad, especially since it was my first and only interview so far. But I'm nervous. You probably understand.
Thanks again!
Tatyana T.

I'd like to thank you for the classes I've been able to attend at RTEK 2000, and to share some experience I've got during the job hunting after graduation from your school in January 2000. This might be interesting for students who just finished studying at RTEK 2000.

I started look for a job in the end of January. It took 3,5 month and 5 interview (I don't include additional 5-10 phone interviews) to get an offer. During this period I've been passing MCSE exams (passed 5 of them), which was very helpful giving me more confidence during interviews. After each interview I've also been rewriting my resume polishing subjects, which were under questioning during the interview. By the way, after 2 interviews I removed my Master's degree leaving only BSc. (Roman advised me to do so from the very beginning but I didn't believe him that it would be better that way), making a resume more appropriate for the LAN Admin position. Ironically, despite the fact that I was almost MCSE, I got an offer for System Administrator position in a company using Novell (3.12 and 4.11). I placed my resume on the company's Web site after I got an information about this company from RTEK 2000 Club Newsletter. The company didn't place an advertisement into "The Baltimore Sun". Thanks again.

Some statistics.
I sent about 100 faxes, 50 e-mails and 10 letters. The response was about 10% - letters of appreciation, phone calls, invitations for an interview. I used ads in The Baltimore Sun (regularly), in The Washington Post (1-2 times, because I didn't want to go far from Baltimore), on the Internet (it's effective only if you know exactly the company's Web site).

From time to time it seems that it takes too long to get a job but in the end everyone who keeps looking gets the job. Good luck to everyone. If you have any questions feel free to ask me by inazarov@abs.net

I signed up for the class of Computer Networking right out of high school. Prior to, I had no previous experience in the computer field, or had any computer experience, and not having been exposed to this field at all.
There were 11 people in the class, which allowed for a lot of personal attention from the instructor. The material was well prepared and covered in a way that everyone could understand. There were numerous opportunities to discuss problems and questions with our instructor after or before class, and the answers were always elaborate and tangible. ... I got the opportunity to practice my skills at the school's computer lab before or after classes... I send out my resume after the completion of the course. A few weeks later I had my first interview, and soon I was hired as a Network Engineer.
I am considering returning to the school for more classes and would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in the computer field who is looking for the appropriate classes.
Alex Remeslennik
Novell Certified Administrator, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

MY WAY TO SUCCESS

When I came to the U.S. from Russia, I had ten years of computer related experience. I thought that I would easily find a job in the computer field. However, I did not realize that experience must be different. Computers change from year to year dramatically and experience that I had is not so valuable now for the potential American employer.
The course of Computer Networking that I took... has brought back the knowledge that I had before and added a lot of new things. Class was good prepared for the lessons. Lab Assistants always helped me with difficult tasks on the practical lessons and facultative classes. The handouts and dittos that I got during my education help me even now, when I have problems on the job site.
I have a very good job now due to my training.
So peek up the phone and register today because the spaces are limited. :-)

And later:

I would like to inform you that I successfully complete CNE track. In this case I would like to thank you again for all that you have done for me.
Thanks again,

...ABOUT RTEK 2000 INSTRUCTORS

...I have been taking many training courses and met many instructors but Sammy Abaza is the best one around.
D. Smolkin. Web Developer

"...I have to say that Sammy [RTEK 2000 instructor] taught me more in the last 2 months than in my whole IT scholastic career. So my kudos goes to him. "
Troy J.R. W

"I've had many training sessions in Maryland, Virginia, DC, and even NY, but after the first class at RTEK 2000 I have to admit that your instructors are brilliant!"

" ...I thought Lloyd Smith was competent, patient, and a good teacher. ...The other teachers were fine, also. Especially Sammy Abaza. He was great."
Howell Caton, the UNIX and Web Development course graduate

"I would just like to say I am amazed by the teaching skills of Yana. She has a very unique way of instructing. She is able to get the point across in a very clear and concise way and still make it fun and enjoyable. You can tell she loves to teach and loves to watch us learn. I look forward to more classes under her tutelage."
Jim Vest (Web Development Student)

"I feel that the training we received was conducted well and introduced us to a lot of the concepts we were hoping to learn about. The material was presented well. Joe Abdalla was a very nice, informed and good instructor. I would definitely recommend him to others."

George Khasabov, CNE

"The instructors were extremely knowledgeable... "
