• 70-431 Virtual Lab 1 : Administering SQL Server 2005
  Course Description:
  In this lab, you will use SQL Server Management Studio to create the Personnel database and its objects. You will save the scripts required to re-create the database and its objects in a SQL Server Management Studio project for future reference. You will then use the sqlcmd utility to execute scripts that will populate the tables in the Personnel database, and you will use SQL Management Objects to back up the Personnel database.
• 70-431 Virtual Lab 2 : Monitoring SQL Server 2005
  Course Description:
  In this lab, you will create a DDL trigger that responds to DROP TABLE commands in the AdventureWorks database, and prevents tables in the production schema from being dropped. You will then create an event notification that records every attempt to drop or create a table in the Production schema in the AdventureWorks database.
• 70-431 Virtual Lab 3 : Maintaining a Database
  Course Description:
  In this lab, you will create and manage indexes in the AdventureWorks database, and you will observe the results. You will then use the Database Engine Tuning Advisor (DETA) to examine how indexes are used in a database, and to make recommendations for creating new indexes and views or for dropping existing indexes.
• 70-431 Virtual Lab 4 : Securing a SQL Server 2005 Database
  Course Description:
  In this lab, you will create Windows user accounts, and then create logins and database users for those accounts in SQL Server. You will then create database objects and manage database schemas, and you will grant permissions for the database users to access the schemas and objects.
• 70-431 Virtual Lab 5 : Programming with Transact-SQL
  Course Description:
  In this lab, you will create new filegroups to hold partitioned data. You will then create a partition function and partition scheme, and you will use them to create a partitioned table. You will also query the partitioning information for the data in the new table.You will then create a recursive common table expression query, and will investigate the effects of the MAXRECURSION parameter. Additionally, you will use the PIVOT operator to create a crosstab query, and you will create a new table based on the result of the crosstab. Finally, you will use the UNPIVOT operator to display the data from the new table in its unpivoted form.
• 70-431 Virtual Lab 6 : Working with XML
  Course Description:
  In this lab, you will query data from the AdventureWorks database and display it in various XML formats. You will also create tables for storing both typed and untyped XML data. You will then use Transact-SQL, XQuery, and XML methods to query the data stored in XML columns. Finally, you will write statements that update data stored in XML columns.
• 70-431 Virtual Lab 7 : Using Service Broker
  Course Description:
  In this lab, you will use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to execute Transact-SQL queries that create several Service Broker objects. You will then implement the CustomerService service and the EmailService service. Finally, you will use SQL Server Management Studio to execute Transact-SQL queries that test the Service Broker application.
• 70-431 Virtual Lab 8 : Implementing a Web Service with HTTP Endpoints
  Course Description:
  In this lab, you will use SQL Server Management Studio to execute a Transact-SQL query that creates an HTTP endpoint. You will then use a .NET client application to test your HTTP endpoint, and finally you will secure the endpoint.
• 70-431 Virtual Lab 9: Using Notification Services
  Course Description:
  In this lab, you will create the required configuration files and application definition files (ADFs) for the Adventure Works Notification Services application. You will then use SQL Server Management Studio to create and enable the application. You will use the Notification Services Subscription Management API to create a subscription management application. Finally, you will use the Notification Services SQL Server event API to implement a simple event provider.
• 70-431 Virtual Lab 10: Using SQL Management Objects
  Course Description:
  In this lab, you will use SMO to connect to a server and retrieve information about the server, its databases, and their tables. You will then use SMO to create a table, and you will use SMO to alter and drop a table.
